Lighter than our original Utah Wildflower Honey, this light wildflower honey is milder in flavor than its more robust sibling. The pollen for this honey comes from the lighter flowers of Box Elder County, Utah, which produces the lighter color and flavor. While is it lighter than many other wildflower honeys, it is still darker and more robust than clover honey. The hives are located on an organic farm in Box Elder County, Utah. 

Our Honey Characteristics:

Unfiltered - Retains pollen - large commercial packers typically filter their honey to create a clear visually appealing product. (read about the benefits of raw honey here)

Unprocessed - Never warmed over 118 degrees.  Commercial packers typically cook their honey at 140 - 160 degrees to deter crystallization.

Packed in a BPA-Free Airtight Pail - to preserve quality and taste and to make shipping more economical.  If storing for long periods of time we encourage you to transfer to glass jars.  However, if you are using within a few months this is an affordable and efficient way to enjoy high quality honey.

Our wildflower honey is a poly-floral variety, meaning that many types of nectar were collected by the bees to create it.  Although the taste, aroma, and flavor will vary from season to season and hive to hive, wildflower honey is typically darker and more robust than its clover cousin. This particular variety is lighter than many other wildflower honeys, but still darker and more robust than clover honey. We carefully collect and bottle this honey to ensure the natural pollen and unfiltered flavor remain.

Is your honey really raw and unfiltered?

Yes, and we hold ourselves to a published standard: never heated above 118°F, strained at 400 microns so the natural pollen stays in, and never pasteurized.

Most grocery-store honey is cooked at 140–160°F and filtered crystal-clear — done to look appealing on a shelf and to delay crystallization. We do neither. Read our published raw & unfiltered standard.

Does raw honey expire?

No. Honey is one of the very few foods that does not spoil. Its low moisture and natural acidity make it inhospitable to the microbes that spoil other foods.

Over time it may crystallize or darken slightly. Neither affects safety, and neither means the honey has gone bad.

How should I store my honey?

Keep it sealed, at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Honey is shelf-stable and needs no refrigeration — in fact, cold speeds up crystallization.

If you're storing a large container for a long stretch, we recommend transferring the honey into glass jars. For honey you'll work through within a few months, the original container is fine as-is.

Is your honey certified kosher?

Is the bulk container BPA-free?

Yes. Our gallon pails and jugs are food-grade and BPA-free. They seal airtight to preserve flavor and quality, and they're far lighter than glass — which is what lets us keep bulk shipping affordable.

Received our bucket of light wildflower the other day. Loved the color and the first thing was to transfer it into glass jars. I love a dark and robust flavored honey. You can actually taste the floral hints of this honey. It's not overpowering at all. You also can see that this is 100% honey with no fillers by the thickness .

package was leaking honey out of the cover. It must have been upside down during delivery. the outside of the box was covered with honey and the bottom of the box had a puddle of honey in it. I lost almost half a pound. However the honey tastes great.
